“Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.”Proverbs 12:1
This bible verse has been my theme this year.
The original hope had been for extraordinary discipline in my life. I had a vision of healthy eating and healthy living.
In reality, this verse was a quiet and steady hand holding onto me throughout the days. When I was too tired to do regular day-to-day things, frustrated with the attacks of the enemy, this verse reminded me that my simple obedience to God was defining and creating in me an excellence.
This excellence is not what the world defines as greatness but in the eyes of God this excellence is all He cares for.
This excellence is an obedience to His Word and to His guidance.
Being obedient to Him is not for His benefit but mine. God doesn’t need anything but because He is good he delights in seeing good things for His creation.
God desires for us to live abundant lives and He gives all we need to know to do it in His direction.
Are you ready to learn how to create a life of discipline? I am too.
