4.7 Gift of God

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.”

Romans 8:1-2

God goes against all of our reasoning..against all of the laws of this world. He is the God of the seemingly impossible.

The power of the resurrection is a gift we cannot fully fathom.

The ramifications of it continually reveal themselves the longer we take the time to peel the layers back, uncovering more, and more, of God’s lovingkindness.

The Resurrection is undeserved.

The Resurrection is overwhelming grace.

The Resurrection is God’s gift to us.

“If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

Romans 8:11

The gift will keep giving.

When we are tired.

When we are broken.

When we cannot walk one more step…God’s gift is there for us.

“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 4:2

All we have to do is reach out and place our hands on it.

Embrace it.

Take it as our own.

This gift is not exchangeable.

The gift is non-refundable.

It can never be removed, or replaced.

It is ours and will always be ours.

I hope today, that you know that the power of the Resurrection, the power to love beyond all measure, is in you. It won’t ever leave. It may be waiting quietly for you. Sleeping patiently for the day you recall its name. It may be tucked away behind the pain and the hurt but it is there for ALL eternity…our gift…the Gift of God.
